Caves Explorer Pro

Your AI assistant (MCP server)

The MCP server opens your cellar to the AI assistant you already use, and lets it work there in plain language. You ask what Burgundy is left, what should be drunk before the end of the year, what the stock is worth: it reads your cellar and answers. You dictate a delivery, a service withdrawal, a list price: it records it. Nothing to install, one address to paste.

Five minutes, once

Connecting your assistant

A single address to paste, a single time. The rest happens on its own, in the browser, with the Caves Explorer credentials you use every day.

  1. Paste the address into your AI assistant

In your assistant's settings, where you add a connector or an MCP server, paste the address above. It is the only thing you will have to type.

  2. The assistant introduces itself

It registers with your cellar without you having to create an account, copy a key or paste a technical password anywhere.

  3. You sign in, as usual

A Caves Explorer page opens and asks for the email address and password of your account. They are exactly the same as in the app.

  4. You grant the rights, knowingly

The next screen names your establishment, your account, the assistant requesting access, and lists what it will be able to do: eight read rights, then seven write rights. You authorise, or you refuse.

  5. It is ready, and it stays that way

You can talk to your cellar. No daily sign-in, no code to re-enter the next morning.

Who can do it

Any cellar manager

Any cellar manager with an active account, without having to be the holder of the establishment's account.

  • From the trial period, whatever the plan subscribed
  • No extra plan needed to be entitled to it
  • Each team member authorises their own from their own account

Revoking access

One button, immediate cut-off

In Settings, My account, the "AI connections" card lists the connected assistants, the account that authorised them and their last access. One button per line, and the cut-off is immediate: the assistant loses access within the second, without going through support.

  • Each member revokes their own connections
  • The account holder sees and revokes all of the establishment's connections

Knowing what is in the cellar

The inventory, asked as a question

The assistant reads the real stock, the one in the app, at the moment you ask.

Food and wine pairing for a specific dish

You describe the dish, it suggests what is really in the cellar, from the most affordable to the most prestigious, applying the house pairing profile. Nineteen dish families are recognised.

  • "Which wine should I suggest with sweetbreads?"
  • "We are serving a platter of aged cheeses tonight, what do I recommend?"
  • "A white to go with oysters, in my mid-range prices."

What needs reordering

Your establishment's restocking threshold is already applied: you don't need to know it, recall it or compare quantities yourself.

  • "What do I need to reorder?"
  • "What am I running short of?"
  • "List what is below the threshold, by supplier."

Finding a wine, knowing how much is left

By name, estate, colour, region, appellation, vintage or supplier. You get the remaining bottles, the selling price and the stock value.

  • "How much white Burgundy do I have left?"
  • "How many Chablis 2021 in the cellar?"
  • "Show me all my Rhône Valley reds."
  • "Which wines have not a single bottle left?"

Opening the full record of a wine

Tasting notes, house pairings, ageing window and maturity phase, price and VAT, serving temperature, and the distribution of bottles between your cellars and your storage units.

  • "Give me the full record of the Sancerre 2022."
  • "What are the tasting notes of the Côte-Rôtie?"
  • "At what temperature do I serve the Meursault, and where are the bottles?"

Knowing which cellar it is connected to

The establishment it has access to, the account under which its entries will be recorded. Useful before entrusting it with an entry, and to clear up any doubt during a demo.

  • "Which restaurant are you connected to?"
  • "Under which account do you record what I dictate?"
II

What needs your attention

Three different views of the same cellar: what the app has already flagged, what the calendar dictates, and what tied-up money demands.

Alerts already flagged

Reaching peak, end of peak approaching, decline, low stock, empty stock, dormant stock, low margin. Your establishment's thresholds are already applied.

  • "What needs my attention today?"
  • "What is wrong in my cellar?"
  • "Show me only the empty stock alerts."

Wines to drink before they fade

The whole cellar sorted by ageing window, with the maturity phase of each wine and the number of years it has left. You can filter by colour, region, vintage or phase.

  • "Which wines should I drink this year before they fade?"
  • "What is reaching maturity right now?"
  • "What is still too young to be served?"
  • "My Bordeaux reds at the end of their peak, most urgent first."

Dormant wines that need a push

What the sell-through engine prioritises: the references that will not move at the current pace, the capital they tie up, and a recommended price to get them going.

  • "What should I push this month?"
  • "What is sleeping in the cellar and costing me money?"
  • "What could I offer by the glass?"
  • "How much have I tied up in wines that do not move?"
III

What the cellar is worth

Two distinct questions, and the assistant does not confuse them: what you hold today, and what you sold over a period.

Valuation of the stock held

Number of bottles, purchase value excl. VAT, selling value incl. VAT, potential margin, markup and bev cost. Optionally broken down by colour, region or supplier.

  • "What is my cellar worth today?"
  • "What is my potential margin, and my markup?"
  • "Where is my money tied up: which colour, which region?"
  • "What is my bev cost on the current stock?"

How that value evolves

The stock value at the end of each of the last months, up to three years back. Enough to see whether the cellar is growing or emptying.

  • "Is my cellar growing or emptying over the last twelve months?"
  • "Show me how the stock value has evolved over two years."

What sold, and what it brought in

Between two dates: bottles sold, revenue incl. VAT, purchase cost excl. VAT, margin and margin rate. Then the detail by wine, colour, region or supplier.

  • "What sold best last month?"
  • "What was my cellar revenue for the quarter?"
  • "Which colour has brought in the most since January?"
  • "Compare December and November on champagne sales."
IV

What came in, what went out

The movement log, line by line or summarised. Each entry carries its author and its origin, including those the assistant made itself.

Detail of incoming and outgoing stock

Over a period, for a wine, a supplier or a person. Service sales, takeaway sales, tastings, breakages, losses, gifts, adjustments.

  • "What left the cellar this week?"
  • "Give me the full history of the Pommard 2018."
  • "Who recorded this withdrawal?"
  • "All breakages since the start of the month."

The same movements, counted and added up

Grouped by wine, direction, entry source or month. This is what "how many" questions need, because the calculation covers the whole period and not a sample.

  • "How many bottles went out last month?"
  • "Which wine sells fastest?"
  • "What share of my withdrawals comes from the till?"
  • "Give me the total incoming stock month by month since January."
V

Receiving and serving

Dictate a delivery instead of typing it, record a service from the dining room. Stock entries are the most frequent tasks, and the most profitable to hand over.

Bringing bottles in

You dictate the delivery: quantity, purchase price, supplier, and the storage location if you want to place them right away. If the wine is not yet in the catalogue, its record is created along the way.

  • "I received 12 Chablis 2021 from Dupont, at 14 euros a bottle."
  • "Add 6 bottles of Gigondas 2019, it is a new wine for me."
  • "Record this delivery: 24 champagnes, invoice dated 3 March."

Seeing what a withdrawal would do, before doing it

The exact bottles that would go out, oldest first, their place in the cellar and what would remain afterwards. This preview is always shown to you before the entry.

  • "If I take out 3 Saint-Émilion, which ones go?"
  • "Show me what would be left if I served 6 bottles of champagne."

Recording a withdrawal

Dining room service, takeaway sale, tasting, breakage, loss or gift. The selling price is noted along the way, and the movement joins the log with your name.

  • "We just served 2 Côte-Rôtie 2019 in the dining room."
  • "A bottle of Meursault broke in the cellar this morning."
  • "Sold 3 magnums to take away, 180 euros for the three."
  • "Take out 2 bottles of the Pommard for Thursday's tasting."
VI

The cellar plan

The cellar is the place, the storage unit is the rack or shelf that holds the bottles. Each storage unit has its grid, and each stored bottle occupies a precise slot.

Your cellars

The list of your storage locations and the number of storage units in each, including a brand-new cellar that does not have any yet.

  • "Which cellars do I have?"
  • "How many racks in the basement cellar?"

Where there is room left

Each storage unit with its capacity, its occupancy and the free slots where a bottle can go.

  • "Where can I store these twelve bottles?"
  • "How much room do I have left in the lower cellar?"
  • "Is shelf B full?"

Bottles lying around

Those that are in stock but that no storage unit holds, oldest first.

  • "What is not stored away?"
  • "Which bottles have been lying around the longest?"

Storing and moving a bottle

To a precise slot of a storage unit. Storing and moving are the same action, and an occupied slot is refused.

  • "Put this Chablis in rack A, row 2, column 4, level 1."
  • "Move the bottle of Pommard to the cold area."

Taking a bottle out of its slot

Without taking anything out of stock: it stays in the cellar, simply without an assigned place. This is what lets you empty a rack before modifying it.

  • "Take these bottles out of their rack, I am reorganising."
  • "Empty shelf B without taking anything out of stock."

Creating and renaming a cellar

New premises, a back room, a basement. With a description if you wish.

  • "Add a cellar, I have just taken over the room at the back."
  • "Rename cellar 2 to Ageing cellar."

Creating and modifying a storage unit

A rack, a shelf, a tray, with its three dimensions: rows, columns, levels. Up to 50 rows, 50 columns and 20 levels. Modifying a grid never moves a bottle.

  • "Add a rack of 6 rows by 4 columns in the lower cellar."
  • "I have put up a 10 by 5 shelf, two levels, cold area."
  • "Extend rack A by one row."

Deleting a storage unit or a cellar

Once there is nothing left in it. A rack that still holds bottles, or a cellar that still contains a rack, cannot be deleted until it is emptied.

  • "Delete this rack, it is empty and I have taken it down."
  • "Remove the basement cellar, we no longer use it."
VII

Wine records

This is also where what the assistant writes itself goes: a tasting note, a food pairing, a description you dictate and it records.

Editing a record

Vintage, selling price and VAT, serving temperature, ageing period, stock thresholds, tasting notes, food pairings, description.

  • "Set the Sancerre 2022 to 38 euros incl. VAT."
  • "Write me a tasting note for this Gigondas and save it."
  • "The Chablis is served at 11 degrees, note it on the record."
  • "Set the champagne restocking threshold to 24 bottles."

Adding a photo

The label, the front of the bottle or the back label. The assistant tells you where the image it uploaded comes from.

  • "Add the label photo to the Pommard record."
  • "Put an image of the bottle on this record."

Removing a photo

When the image no longer fits. To replace it, simply upload a new one: the record is never left without an image in between.

  • "Remove the back label photo of this wine."
VIII

Suppliers

Who you buy from, what you bought from them, and how to reach them.

Who your suppliers are

The list, with for each one the number of references purchased, the bottles still in stock and the total amount of your purchases.

  • "Who do I buy from?"
  • "Which is my biggest supplier by value?"
  • "Find the Beaune wine merchant in my suppliers."

A supplier's record

Contact details, legal information, notes, and their most recent purchases, limited to the period you are interested in.

  • "Give me the contact details of Domaine Dupont."
  • "What have I bought from them since September?"

Listing a new supplier

The name is enough to create the record. You fill in the rest when you have it, without the assistant asking you for it.

  • "Add Domaine Martin as a supplier."
  • "List this négociant, here is their phone number and address."

Correcting a supplier record

Contact details, town, website, legal information, internal notes.

  • "Domaine Dupont has changed its number, update it."
  • "Add a note on this supplier: delivery on Tuesdays only."
IX

The wine list

The list is not the stock: it is what you offer your guests. A wine can appear on it with its price by the glass, by the carafe and by the bottle, and its own presentation text.

What is on the list

The wines offered, the price the guest reads, the prices per serving size and the chosen presentation.

  • "What do I have on the list right now?"
  • "At what price is the Sancerre on the list?"
  • "Which wines on the list are out of stock?"

The public link and its QR code

The address your customers open by scanning the QR code on the table, and whether the list is currently open to the public.

  • "Give me the link to my wine list."
  • "Is my list visible to customers?"

Putting a wine on the list

With its price, a presentation text, and up to ten prices per serving size. Without a specified price, the list uses the one on the wine's record.

  • "Put the Sancerre 2022 on the list at 42 euros, and 9 euros a glass."
  • "Add this Gigondas to the list, 12 cl at 8 euros and the bottle at 48."
  • "Offer this champagne to guests, at the record price."

Editing a line on the list

Its price, its presentation text, its prices per serving size. This is the preferred way to change a price: removing the wine loses the written presentation for it.

  • "Set the Chablis on the list to 46 euros."
  • "Add a carafe price on the rosé, 25 cl at 6 euros."
  • "Rewrite the presentation text of the Pommard on the list."

Removing a wine from the list

It leaves the guests' list without anything leaving the stock: the bottles stay in the cellar.

  • "Take this wine off the list, we no longer serve it."
  • "Remove the Meursault from the list, but keep the bottles."

Changing the presentation of the list

How wines are grouped for your guests (by colour then region, by appellation, alphabetically, by price) and what is displayed for each wine: vintage, description, quality mention, country, logo.

  • "Sort the list by region rather than by colour."
  • "Show vintages on the public list."
  • "Order the wines from cheapest to most expensive."
Chapter X

What protects your cellar

The assistant works in your establishment and nowhere else. Here is what that guarantee rests on.

  • Your establishment, and it alone

The establishment is never something the assistant names: it is determined by your connection. Its scope is therefore your cellar, and it cannot leave it.

  • Checked on every request

Account deactivated, role changed, access expired: the check is replayed on every question asked, not only on the day you authorised the assistant.

  • Everything is logged, and attributed

Each entry joins the movement log under your account, marked as coming from the assistant. You can review afterwards what was done, and by whom.

  • Nothing leaves the stock by surprise

A stock withdrawal cannot be undone: it is therefore always shown to you before being recorded, with the exact bottles that would go.

  • Only empty things can be deleted

A rack that holds bottles cannot be deleted, nor can a cellar that contains a rack. And shrinking a rack below a bottle already stored is refused.

  • You cut off whenever you want

One button in your settings, and access stops within the second. The assistant will have to go through your sign-in and your consent again to come back.
